Tour operators :
They are also called wholesale travel agents, they are an organization, firm or a company who buys individual travel components separately from their suppliers and combine then into a package tour.
There are mainly 4 types of tour operators. They are briefly discussed below:
Inbound tour operators are those who take care of the tourists coming into a country from other foreign countries. They do all the arrangements for their activities, accommodation etc at these destinations. Whereas the outbound tour operators promotes outbound tourism. They also promotes foreign destination not only for leisure travels but also for business tourists activities.
Domestic tour operators arranges tour packages within a country and ground tour operators or handling agencies are those which have link (outsourcing) with other travel agencies just in case if they fall short of the tourists requirements.
These tour operators are required to supply printed materials for reference, official airline guide, hotel directories and are required to set up accessible infrastructure, proper licensing etc to their customers for gaining reputation. Features of a tour operator include:
